Virginia Knapp is taking care of the library at the present time. She is originally from Upstate New York, where she lived on a dairy farm. After receiving her degree, she taught in Washington D.C., and the Binghamton, N.Y. area. In 1976, Virginia moved to Iowa, met Jim, who became her husband that same year.

Since moving to Iowa, Virginia started out subbing mainly for Creston School, Creston, IA. She was Creston's High School Principal's secretary. After five years a music position opened and was hired to teach music in the Creston Middle School. Later the position was changed to being a shared teacher between East Union, Afton, IA and Creston. She has also taught in Corning, Iowa and is now being shared between East Union (librarian) and Orient-Macksburg, Orient, IA (science teacher).

Her husband is a farmer and they have two daughters. Anna the oldest, lives in Danville, IA with her husband, Caleb who is a Young Adult pastor. They have three children, Mabry, Ty and Kara. The youngest daughter is Emily who lives in Ankeny with her husband Juern. Emily is a second grade teacher at Ankeny Christian Academy and Juern is in school at Faith Baptist Bible College.
